TESTIMONIAL

“Banchory Stud is one of Queensland’s oldest established thoroughbred farms, situated in the heart of the Darling Downs stud precinct and has been modernised into a world class agistment and spelling farm with approved export quarantine facilities. Banchory’s manager, Scott Colless has had a lifetime of involvement in the thoroughbred breeding industry and is a very experienced and professional horseman.

For five years,  Scott managed the Fred Brown owned Glen Avon Stud, one of Queensland’s top yearling sale presenters. We have no hesitation in recommending and endorsing the team from Banchory with its upmarket, boutique enterprise situated in some of Australia’s premier thoroughbred horse country.”

Banchory is situated on 750 acres of prime grazing country in the heart of the Darling Downs, which is renowned as the best horse country in Queensland.

The farm was originally owned by Lauderdale Ramsay who established one of the first thoroughbred studs in Queensland in the early 1900’s. After Ramsay’s death in 1942, the stud was dispersed but all subsequent owners of Banchory have owned, raced and bred thoroughbred horses.

Richard and Mary Lee Trivett, the current owners have continued this long tradition.
